Frequently Asked Questions
What is Executive Function Coaching, and what is your approach?
Executive Functioning skills are the set of thinking processes that allow someone to do the things they want and need to do. This includes many interconnected abilities, including organizing materials and ideas, breaking down and planning complex tasks, time management, task initiation, and focus.
EF Coaching is a partnership in which an experienced coach provides structure and accountability to support clients in developing the skills needed to get things done. My approach to coaching is client-driven, strengths based, and as fun and engaging as possible. We get a lot done while also using humor and connection to build a trusting bond. I pay close attention, collect data of all kinds, listen deeply, and co-create tools with clients.

How do I get started?
We begin with a free 20-30 minute consultation by phone or video. For minors, a parent/guardian attends, and the student may join partway through. We’ll discuss goals, fit, and logistics.

How much does coaching cost?
All 1:1 coaching and consultation sessions are billed hourly at $150/hour, with a $20 driving charge for in-person sessions. Payment is due at the start of each month for that month’s sessions. I accept Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are not refundable.

How often do we meet?
Most clients start with weekly or bi-weekly sessions for a few months. We periodically review progress and adjust frequency as needed.

What does progress look like?
You’ll have a shared Google Doc with notes, goals, and action steps. Progress is measured through both outcomes (e.g., turning in homework, following routines) and growth in independence, confidence, and self-awareness.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work with you?
No. Many of my clients have formal diagnoses with ADHD or other neurodivergence, but some don’t. For anyone struggling with organization, time, or tasks, Executive Function Coaching can help. I do have late-diagnosed ADHD myself and enjoy bringing that perspective into the work.

What ages do you work with?
I work with clients from about age 10 through adulthood.

How is coaching different from therapy or tutoring?
Coaching is practical and forward-focused. It’s not therapy, and I don’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. It’s also not tutoring, and I don’t teach subject content. Coaching is about building the skills and systems to help you manage learning, work, and life. I do, however, collaborate with other providers who may be supporting clients, such as therapists, neuropsychologists, and teachers.

How long does coaching last?
It varies. Some clients work with me for a few months around a transition (starting high school, college, a new job). Others continue longer as they build deeper systems.

What if I'm not sure coaching is right for me?
That’s what the free consultation is for. We'll talk through your needs and goals, and you can decide if coaching feels like the right fit.
