When I started Effect Learning, I knew that one day I’d want to build a team of coaches who share the same values, the same warmth, and the same commitment to meeting clients exactly where they are. That day is here.
I’m thrilled to officially introduce two incredible Associate EF Coaches who have joined the Effect Learning family: Jenny Jo Smilovitz and Katie Tomten. Both bring deep experience, genuine passion, and their own lived understanding of what it means to navigate executive function challenges. Read a little about them below, or click here to read their bios in detail.
Meet the team

Jenny Smilovitz — Associate EF Coach, working with adults, remotely and in-home
Jenny’s path to EF coaching began with her own story. After struggling to stay on top of schoolwork in high school, she realized she needed highly detailed routines to balance all the demands of college life. Long before she had the language for it, she became her own first client. She went on to spend a decade as a music librarian at The Boston Conservatory, fascinated by how people interact with organizational systems and why those systems so often feel counterintuitive. As a parent of a teenager with ADHD, she brings both professional insight and deep personal understanding to her work with adult clients. Her mission: helping adults replace daily overwhelm with sustainable routines that actually fit how their brain works.
Katie Tomten — Associate EF Coach, working remotely with high school & college students
Katie is a 13-year classroom veteran who has taught across the Midwest, Southeast, and here in Massachusetts, and holds an M.Ed. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Throughout her career, her goal has always been the same: to make sure every student feels seen in their entirety. At Effect Learning, she specializes in helping high school and college students stay on top of the ups and downs of the school year. Katie supports students in time management and organization, as well as breaking down big projects, essays, deadlines, and goals into manageable, empowering steps. She works with students to co-create systems that build real confidence and follow-through.
What this means for you
With Jenny, Katie, and Faith all offering coaching services, Effect Learning now has expanded availability and greater capacity to serve clients across the lifespan, from middle schoolers to adults navigating busy professional and personal lives. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to reach out, or you know someone who could benefit, now is a great time.
I personally review every new inquiry and match each client with the coach best suited to their needs and goals. You can click here to read detailed bios for Jenny & Katie.
A client story
I recently wrapped up a six-session engagement with an adult client who came to coaching not because she was falling apart, but because she wanted to do even more, and do everything well. Here’s what she shared:
“Faith helped me break down more complex tasks into manageable steps and develop practical scheduling strategies. The system we built and tested together fit my daily life and could encompass both personal and professional tasks and projects. Most importantly, Faith’s approach was supportive, structured, and focused on skills I could immediately apply. I especially appreciated how the sessions emphasized progress over perfection and provided tools that were both simple and effective. By the end of our work together, I felt confident to capitalize on managing my responsibilities, on planning my days, weeks, months, and beyond.”
